On January 26, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China donated RMB30 million, supporting Hubei Province to fight against the novel coronavirus, also known as 2019-nCoV.

ICBC, resolutely implementing decisions and deployment made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, convened the Special Party Committee Meeting on January 21, to formulate a prevention and control plan against the spread of the 2019-nCoV. In the meeting, the bank decided to build the head responsibility system for hierarchical management at all levels, striving to contain the epidemic under the unified guidance and deployment of the state, and the party committees and people’s governments at all levels. An epidemic reporting system will be established to screen and report the 2019-nCoV updates. Scientific knowledge on disease prevention and control will be disseminated to all employees and customers. Epidemic-prevention supplies, including medicines and masks will be distributed to employees; and office buildings and business premises shall be sterilized strictly in accordance with relevant requirements.

ICBC will spare no effort in providing professional and efficient financial services on 2019-nCoV prevention and control, drug production and delivery, emergency supplies procurement, corporate donations, fiscal funds allocation and transfer, etc.. For instance, ICBC Wuhan Branch, after hearing of the funds demand of local pharmaceuticals, completed the credit approval process in merely one day, injecting RMB100 million of working capital loan into the enterprises to support their reservation and supply of emergency materials. On the first day of Chinese Lunar Year, Wuhan Caidian Branch, in prompt response to the demand of health care departments in the district, transferred funds in less than one hour, ensuring sufficient funds supply in a timely manner to the frontline of epidemic prevention and control.
