Financial Creative Design Contest of National College Students Ends in Success
 

The finals of 2016 “ICBC Cup” Financial Creative Design Contest of National College Students were successfully held in the Central University of Finance and Economics. Fu Zhenbang, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Central Committee, and Wang Jingdong, Vice President of ICBC jointly started the finals at the site. Two works, Good Control and Valuable e Business, completed by students in 1990s from Xi’an Jiaotong University stood out from the contest with over 5,000 works from different parts of China and won the championship together, with each team awarded bonus of RMB 10,000. In addition, more than 100 semi-final winners were granted the direct access cards for employment in ICBC.

According to an official with ICBC, this contest is jointly held by ICBC, Communist Youth League Central Committee and the Association of Communication Youth League of National Finance and Economic Colleges, aiming to popularize financial knowledge among college students, enhance the financial awareness of college students and promote Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation The contest requires college students to study and present creative financial designs based on current and future needs of customers, market changes and development of China's financial industry, attracting more than 1.4 million college students from nearly 1,000 colleges nationwide and receiving more than 5,000 works. After six months’ registration, expert preliminary selection, semi-finals, the National finals, 40 teams were selected. After five contests in Zhengzhou, Xi’an, Nanjing, Harbin and Nanchang, 10 teams were selected as the candidates of national championship.

Since its inception in 2010, the “ICBC Cup” Financial Creative Design Contest of National College Students has developed into a nationwide bank-college cooperation innovative event well received by college faculties and students with broad social recognition and influence. In recent years, organizers have followed the Internet and mobile Internet trends to explore and use online activities to bring the event closer to the interests and needs of young students. The contest not only inspires the passion of students for financial knowledge enhances financial awareness and ideas, but also shows college students’ good financial basis and knowledge reserves, which plays an active role in promoting Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the campus.
