The U.S. dollar declined against most major currencies on Friday despite positive economic data from the country.

In late New York trading, the euro rose to 1.0969 dollars from 1.0902 dollars, while the dollar bought 104.87 Japanese yen, lower than 105.25 yen in the previous session.
